Medical Tourism at El Palmar Medical

Medical tourism is a rapidly spreading phenomenon, as Canadians frustrated with long waits and Americans unable to pay the exorbitantly high cost of medical services travel to other countries for treatments. In Mexico, medical services cost 40- 60% less than in Canada or the U.S., and the proximity of Mexico helps Canadians and Americans obtain the benefits of inexpensive medical care.

Many hospitals and clinics in Mexico are state-of-the-art and can compete with the world’s best. These modern hospitals feature up-to-date diagnostic equipment and large, private patient rooms. In many of these hospitals, the majority of the patients are medical tourists.

Mexico’s doctors and dentists are well-trained; in fact, many American doctors study in Mexico. Many medical tourists report that Mexican doctors and dentists relate to them on a more personal level than health care professionals at home.

Mexico Vacations

El Palmar Beach & Tennis Resort has an on-site doctor with more than 20 years experience in family medicine. Dr. Rosa Vivas trained in Guadalajara as a general physician and now has active medical practices in both Guadalajara and Melaque.

Dr. Vivas is currently a member of the board of directors and a volunteer doctor for "Asistencia a la familia de Cihuatlan A.C.", a charity that provides medical care to underprivileged children. She also provides free medical treatment to indigenous ranch workers, their families, and local residents who cannot afford medical treatment.

Dr. Vivas maintains relationships with the medical staff of many local hospitals and can refer patients for appropriate medical treatment when needed. She has recently won the "Real Heroes of Mexico" award for her tireless efforts to improve the lives of the indigenous workers though education and access to medical care.

Dental Tourism at El Palmar

Mexico Vacations

El Palmar offers deals on dental work at up to 80% off American and Canadian prices. Dentists in the U.S. charge $300-400 for a filling and $1000 for dentures; in Mexico, fillings cost only $20-40 and dentures only $200.

Services available include: crowns, bridges, fillings, veneers, whitening, and dental implants.

It may seem daunting to find a reliable and trustworthy dentist in Mexico, but we at El Palmar have done the work for you. We work with a dentist with excellent credentials and many years of experience. If you are in need of major dental work, a vacation package to El Palmar, including flights, will likely be cheaper than having the procedure done in the U.S. or Canada!
