Beautiful and quiet at El Palmar

Mexico Vacations, Melaque hotel

Summer on the Pacific coast of Mexico has arrived!  It's warm but has not started raining yet.  May and June are some wonderful months to be in Melaque, hardly any tourists, the pace is very laid back and the beach is practically deserted.  Well, accept for the weekends when the city tourists come in on busses.  It's a completely different vibe this time of the year and it gives visitors a chance to see life in a beachside village.  Mexican schools don't end for year until early July but you'll find kids at the beach in the late evening skimboarding and hanging out with friends.  During the high season many have to work at family businesses after school, restaurants, bungalows, tacos stands, groceries stores are all so busy during the winter that people don't get much of a chance to relax. We love the winters for the hustle and bustle but spring and summer hold many charms as well.

Rosie and I are lucky to spend some time here after the high season before we too head up North to reconnect with friends and family.  It’s nice to have the best of both worlds!
